Public Opinion Survey on Kenya Clean Energy Access

Energy is considered as the engine room of economic growth and development. Energy
availability, affordability and accessibility remain at the core of Kenya’s development
challenge. Access to sustainable and clean energy has the potential to accelerate economic
growth as well as improving livelihoods.
Stakeholders in the energy sector have put in place several measures to expand access to
clean and renewable energy. It is against this background that Christian Aid, in partnership
with the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) commissioned Infotrak Research
& Consulting to conduct an opinion poll on the level of demand for access to clean energy in
Kenya.

The opinion poll covers the following issues among others:

  1. Kenyans concern with climate change;
  2. Kenyans likelihood to support political parties based on their energy policies and promises;
  3. Access to clean and renewable energy sources;
  4. Kenyans perceptions on affordability of various energy sources.
